St-Lawrence 8h
The St-Lawrence Adventure Race is a multisport event that will take place on May 18, 2025, in the Rimouski area (QC). This event aims to provide a memorable sporting and human adventure for teams while showcasing the beauty and attractions of Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Disciplines
Mountain biking, running/trekking, and kayaking. Each of these requires map and compass navigation. The distances listed below are subject to slight variations from the final course. You must have experience in all disciplines involved in the race.
Course
Teams will traverse approximately 70 km on an unmarked course, orienting themselves with maps and a compass. This event is aimed at those who wish to discover the sport or athletes looking for a shorter challenge. Thus, several checkpoints will be optional, allowing each team to choose a level of difficulty that suits their goals. The course will remain secret until the day before the race.
Duration
The duration of the race will vary between 7-9 hours depending on your route choices, checkpoint selections, and speed. There will be time limits at different stages of the course.
Teams
Teams of 2 - male, female, or mixed.
Logistics
The organization will handle the transportation of bins, bikes, and kayaks if needed. Teams will have access to their bins at certain transitions between disciplines.
Preliminary General Schedule
Sunday before noon: Registration and race start (in the Rimouski area). Sunday afternoon: Course closure by the end of the day. The awards ceremony will take place in the early evening.
Equipment List
Complete list to come. Note that a mountain bike is required. Tires must be at least 2 inches wide. Bikes with tires less than 3 inches wide must have a suspension with a minimum travel of 100mm. No hybrid, cyclocross, gravel, or electric bikes will be allowed on the course. Registrations
Registrations open on November 14. https://www.zeffy.com/fr-CA/ticketing/be28ffdf-9dcf-47b9-826f-1aa6275483e6 The number of teams will be limited to 24, and registrations close on April 1, 2025. The cost per team is 375$ (+ taxes). This cost includes, among other things: the transport of your bins, bikes, and kayak (if required), kayak rental, course design and maps, and post-race meal. The minimum age to participate is 16 years, accompanied by an adult. This requires approval from the race management. Please contact us in advance to discuss. Refund Policy: Refunds will be issued according to the following scale: 85% until February 1, 2025, 50% between February 2 and April 1, 2025, 25% between April 2 and May 1, 2025. No refunds after May 2, 2025. Until May 2, teams have the option to transfer their registration after informing the organizing committee.
Running/Trekking
6-14 km in several sections - trails and off-trail, possible crossing of streams and swamps.
Mountain Biking
34-45 km - A mountain bike is required. Asphalt - Dirt roads - Single track - Forest roads - MTB trails.
Kayaking
6-10 km - lake. The kayak is provided with registration.
